HOMEMADE VANILLA

Who doesn’t love to receive a homemade gift? I know I do and I cherish it much more than anything store bought. This easy Homemade Vanilla is the perfect gift to give this holiday season!

Homemade Vanilla Extract

If you’ve been around for a while you might remember me making this vanilla recipe once before 5 years ago! But it was just so good (and easy!) so I decided to make a fresh batch to give away as gifts this year.

I also included a new updated label for you to print out for free!

DISCLAIMER*

Homemade Vanilla needs to sit for 1-2 months before use to make sure it absorbs into the vodka. If you wait until now to make it like I did because #life, just be sure to tell who you’re giving it to that it might not be quite ready for use!

SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR HOMEMADE VANILLA

  • Vodka (any vodka is fine but I wouldn’t use the super cheap stuff!)
  • Vanilla Beans (5-6 per bottle)
  • Funnel
  • Bottles

That’s it! Two simple ingredients and you’ve got yourself some amazing homemade vanilla extract.

STEP 1

Cut your beans in half then slice each one lengthwise. Add them to your bottle.

Fill your bottle with vodka.

STEP 3

Attach your label and add some pretty ribbon and a fresh sprig of cedar or any other fun garnish!

Homemade Vanilla Free Labels

I printed out my labels on card stock and glued them onto each bottle using super glue.

Easy peasy! A beautiful and delicious homemade gift that anyone would love to receive!

What a wonderful idea. Rum or Brandy would be delicious. I buy a concentrated coffee liquid called JOT that is a subscription that is sent to my home every 4 weeks and it comes in the cutest bottle ever. I’ll use them as containers ♥️

I’d make one suggestion. I’ve done this for years & years but I use either rum or brandy. Usually Christian bros because it’s available in larger bottles at a reasonable price. The darker liquors lend a really nice richness to the vanilla that the vodka just doesn’t carry.
