Hooray for Chalk Paint®!

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® has been around for a while now but I only learned about it once I started this endeavor. Everyone raves about it and talks about how great and easy it is to use, so I knew I had to give it a try. The problem: Annie Sloan is based out of England and only certain places sell her paint in the US. I wasn’t getting my hopes up when I typed my zip code into the “find retailer” slot, but I think I jumped out of my chair when the results came up. There was a little store about a half hour away in Edinboro, PA and I knew I would be there that weekend. I can’t thank Debbie Gast, the owner of Le Jardin Florals & Furnishings enough for being so kind and taking the time to show me all her beautiful pieces she has created with Chalk Paint®. The possibilities are endless, and she was so thorough in explaining the technique and different uses. I have to give it to her, she’s a great saleswoman, because I walked out of there spending WAY more than I anticipated. Oops! This stuff does come at a cost, and I was a little hesitant at first, but let me tell you, IT IS WORTH IT! I ended up getting Napoleonic Blue and Graphite, along with the clear wax and a small wax brush.

I’m so happy I can finally join the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® bandwagon and completely understand why this stuff is so popular. Stay tuned to see my very first project with it later this week!
