DIY Painted Planters with Gold Leather Accents

Date
May, 21, 2014

As promised, today I’m sharing with you the tutorial for these cute little planters that I made for my Tripod Tables. Do you hate the ugly terra cotta plastic planters that most plants and succulents come in as much as me? Then this tutorial is for you. It’s SO easy and it makes such a big difference. You can customize them as much as you want and the possibilities are endless.

First off I want to apologize for making a serious blogging faux pas. I totes forgot to take pictures of what my planters looked like before. So sorry friends! I found this photo online to give you an idea. Basically, buy a plant from any garden or home improvement store and this is what it comes in.

So blah, right? That’s what one of mine looked like, and the other was a teal color made of thicker plastic that I had bought last year. I decided to paint mine using the same colors I used on my tables, minus the navy.

Talk about easy! This is such a simple project that adds some color and excitement to those boring planters. The gold leather accents really take it to the next level and add great dimension.

Have you transformed a boring plastic planter? I’d love to see what you did! Have a happy hump day!

Psst! 2 days until the big announcement!

Really cute idea – I have tons of boring plastic planters! This is a great idea to make them usable – rather than just stacking them in a pile in my basement! LOL!! Pinning! Julia
